Test operation steps of fully automatic insulation boot (glove) withstand voltage test device

Test operation steps of fully automatic insulation boot (glove) withstand voltage test device

1. When conducting a water test on the inside and outside of insulated boots (gloves), the water inside and outside of the insulated boots (gloves) should be at the same height, with an 80mm exposed part of the water surface, and ensure that the exposed part of the insulated boots (gloves) is dry and clean. Then, place the high-voltage electrode inside the insulated boots (gloves) and clamp them securely.

2. When testing the installation of steel balls inside insulated boots, the steel balls inside and outside the insulated boots (gloves) should be of the same height. Place the high-voltage electrode inside the insulated boots so that it contacts the metal ball at a depth of not less than 15mm.

3. Set up the site according to the relevant regulations for the fully automatic insulation boot (glove) withstand voltage test device, connect the equipment wires, and in areas where conditions permit, there should be dedicated personnel responsible for safety on site for guidance.

  4. Connect the power supply, turn on the power switch, enter the measurement mode, perform a few seconds of system self-test, set various parameters for testing.

5. Press the test button, the work signal light will turn on, the voltage regulator will be energized, and the voltage bar on the display screen should have a high voltage indication (kV), while also displaying the leakage current values (mA) of 6 channels.

6. During the boosting process, the alarm buzzer will work and make a sound, indicating that the voltage is being boosted, and closely monitor the voltage and current values. When the voltage rises to the set voltage value, the boosting will stop, and the timer will automatically start. After the time is up, the voltage will automatically decrease. (As shown in Figure 1)

7. Pay attention to the milliampere meter. If the insulation performance of the insulated boots (gloves) decreases, the milliampere meter will indicate. If any current indication exceeds the specified range of the test sample during the experiment, the system will automatically cut off the high-voltage power supply, turn off the power switch, and find out the relevant reasons before conducting the experiment.

8. During the boost or withstand voltage test, if there is an overcurrent such as short circuit, flashover, breakdown, etc., the current relay will operate (at the same time, the unqualified circuit will be displayed in reverse, and the leakage current value will be maintained in front of the corresponding circuit, as shown in Figure 2), causing the voltage regulator to automatically power off, indicating that the tested product is unqualified. At this point, the regulator will automatically return to zero. And cut off the power for the next operation.

9. After each experiment, the power switch must be turned off and then turned on again to conduct the experiment.

Before using the fully automatic insulation boot (glove) voltage withstand test device, it is necessary to check whether the contacts of each electrical component are loose, whether the contacts are good, and whether each protection system can work normally.

Before use, the insulation rod, electrode, electrode rod, water tank and other parts should be wiped clean with cotton cloth.

After the experiment is completed, the water should be drained and all parts should be wiped dry with a cotton cloth. If not used for a long time, it should be stored in a dry and ventilated place.

The workplace and storage area should be free of gases, vapors, chemical dust, and other explosive and corrosive media that seriously affect insulation.
